Kinderen in leer- en leefgemeenschap Squaw Valley vragen Sir Ken Robinson hemd van het lijf

Het Squaw Valley Institute brengt kinderen letterlijk in contact met sprekers uit de hele wereld. Deze kinderen - tussen 11 en 14 jaar - maken gedurende vijf weken een studie van een persoon, van zijn gedachten, zijn ideeën. Om vervolgens dezelfde kinderen een 'ongewoon' gesprek te laten voeren met een opmerkelijk mens/denker. In deze video is sir Ken Robinson op bezoek in de leef- en leergemeenschap rondom Lake Tahoe, in de bergstreek van de staat California. Hij krijgt gedurende veertig minuten vragen gesteld die voortkomen uit de persoonlijke belevingswereld van kinderen. Vragen die hem hier en daar ook in verlegenheid brengen. Kijk mee.

Students are ages 11—14 and come from a variety of backgrounds and educational institutions.

Members of the Squaw Valley Kids’ Institute experience uncommon conversations and lasting transformations as they:

• Expand their view of the world and their individual place in it by preparing for and conversing with the world’s advocates & thinkers.


• Seek smart, sincere & enlightened questions for SVI’s speakers by engaging in 5 weeks of relevant, meaningful, examined, community-rooted study.


• Access & honor local thinkers & doers whose work, ideas and local impact relates to the work, ideas and impact of incoming speakers;


• Examine & Share their own experiences and ideas, fitting them into the larger peer-, community-, and global context.


• Interact within a multi-age, diverse group.


• Convert their newfound interests to local opportunities for action.

The Squaw Valley Institute enhances the quality of life within the unique mountain environment of Squaw Valley, California, VS.

Our events are open to the public, and span a wide variety of topics including: the environment, film and entertainment, health and wellness, world affairs, extreme sports, adventure travel, arts and sciences. We provide a forum for learning about complex subjects, and foster enduring relationships among our members.

Our goal is to bring programming to the Tahoe region that inspires uncommon conversations.
