'Still Face' leidt tot socialisatie-probleem op latere leeftijd

Ontkenning van expressie op zeer jonge leeftijd kan verstrekkende gevolgen hebben. Het 'Still Face Experiment' van dokter Edward Tronick, directeur van Child Development Unit op Harvard - laat zien dat de mate van socialisatie direct gerelateerd is aan de aandacht en de interactie van een  baby met zijn omgeving.  Roos de Hoog droeg het filmpje aan.

Using the "Still Face" Experiment, in which a mother denies her baby attention for a short period of time, Dr. Tronick describes how prolonged lack of attention can move an infant from good socialization, to periods of bad but repairable socialization. In "ugly" situations the child does not receive any chance to return to the good, and may become stuck.
